When I was nine years old, I plunked out my first story called A Day At The Zoo on my mother's old typewriter. My mom was suitably impressed.

Although that typewriter has been replaced by a Mac (whose keys are almost silent), I've been writing ever since.

In junior high, I wrote (and performed in) a play called Cinderella Disco. Our drama club was called The Dramaderrys. Why we wanted to be known as camels that can't spell I will never understand.

In college, I was a features writer for the Ferris State University newspaper.

After college, I wrote The Price Of Death, a novel about a serial killer.

After reading that tale, my mom said she was glad that I wrote down these thoughts instead of acting them out. (Insert evil grin from me here).
